Helping pet owners keep pets in loving homes

Humane Tomorrow’s Flower’s Fund

Since 1997, Humane Tomorrow has given hope to thousands of homeless, abused, and unwanted animals in Flower Mound, TX and the surrounding communities by providing spay/neuter programs, adoption opportunities, and education to the public about animal welfare. In 2012, we expanded these services with a program called Flower’s Fund, designed to help pet owners and veterinarians faced with difficult choices when a pet requires unexpected, expensive care that the owner cannot afford. Flower’s Fund helps pet owners in the DFW Metroplex who find themselves facing the painful choice of having to euthanize, compromise on care, or give up a pet because they are unable to afford unexpected expenses such as emergency medical care.

Flower’s Fund has also expanded to provide food and other pet supplies to organizations such as Christian Community Action, who distribute these items to pet owners in need. Donations of pet food and supplies are accepted during normal business hours at the Flower Mound Veterinary Hospital, 1601 Arrowhead Drive, Flower Mound, TX 75028.

A happy outcome for this family is thanks to Flower’s Fund!

The program’s initial funding came from a significant donation from Real and Muff Musgrave, longtime volunteers and supporters of Humane Tomorrow. An internationally acclaimed artist, Real created a figurine called “Herding Cats,” based on their experiences in fostering kittens over the years. Proceeds from the introductory event celebrating the release of this piece, and several subsequent events, were donated to Humane Tomorrow to create Flower’s Fund.

Because funds for this program are limited, applications are considered based on several factors including but not limited to financial need and prognosis. In most cases, we will require that you provide documentation of your financial situation and evidence that you have been turned down for Care Credit. If you live in the DFW area and are in need of assistance you may complete an application and submit it to Humane Tomorrow, or contact us at flowersfund@humanetomorrow.org.
